This is the heartfelt wish that Hoang Duy Phong’s parents have carried with them throughout the years as they stand by their son in his battle against leukemia.

At an age when children should be carefree, attending school, playing with friends, and enjoying their childhood, Duy Phong’s life revolves around hospitals, regular blood transfusions, and ongoing medical treatment necessary to keep him alive.

Diagnosed with leukemia at a young age, Phong has always been physically weaker than other children his age. He frequently suffers from illness, fatigue, and poor appetite. The disease has not only deprived him of many joys of childhood but has also placed a tremendous emotional and financial burden on his family over the years.

At the end of 2025, prolonged hemolytic anemia led to Phong undergoing spleen removal surgery. Although the operation was successfully completed, his treatment journey remains long and challenging. To maintain his health and manage his condition, Phong still requires regular medical monitoring and ongoing treatment.

Every hospital visit brings additional financial pressure to the family. During periods when the hospital's blood supply was insufficient, Phong's father personally donated blood to his son or had to borrow money to purchase blood for treatment, costing approximately VND 3.5 million each time. In addition, the family must cover expenses for medication, laboratory tests, transportation, and many other costs associated with long-term treatment.

Phong's family relies primarily on farming for their livelihood. Their income is unstable and heavily dependent on weather conditions and seasonal harvests. Life was already difficult, and the ongoing medical expenses have made it even more challenging. Nevertheless, driven by unconditional love for their son, his parents continue to do everything they can to ensure that no opportunity for treatment is missed.

The family's greatest wish is not an extraordinary one. They simply hope that Phong will have the strength to continue his treatment, overcome his illness, and have the chance to live, study, and grow up like any other child.
