09/06/2026One year after losing his father to end-stage liver cancer, a 10-year-old boy continues to fight thalassemia every single day...
A series of hardships has struck the family of B.T. Tuyen (10 years old, Phu Tho Province). One year ago, his father passed away after a long battle with end-stage liver cancer.
Today, Tuyen is living with thalassemia and requires monthly medical treatment, while his older sister is also undergoing treatment for an ovarian cyst. These overlapping challenges have placed an immense burden on a family already struggling to make ends meet.
Diagnosed with thalassemia at a young age, Tuyen must regularly visit the hospital for blood transfusions and iron chelation therapy to stay alive. The ongoing treatments often leave him exhausted and physically weak, affecting both his health and education. At times, he has had to put his studies on hold in order to focus on medical treatment.

When his father was still alive, the family faced many difficulties but at least had someone to share the financial burden. Since his father's passing, however, all responsibilities have fallen on his mother's shoulders. While still coping with the pain of losing her husband, she must now care for two children battling serious health conditions.
To pay for her husband's treatment during his final years and cover her children's medical expenses, Tuyen's mother was forced to sell the family's pig herd, their most valuable asset. The small amount of savings they had quickly disappeared under mounting hospital bills and daily living costs.
Today, she works as a daily laborer with an unstable income. Work is not always available, and many days she must stay home to care for her sick children or accompany them to medical appointments. As a result, the family constantly struggles to cover even their most basic needs.
What this mother hopes for most is not a comfortable life, but simply the chance for her children to continue receiving treatment and attending school like other children their age. For Tuyen, every day he is able to return to the classroom is another opportunity to nurture his dreams, despite a disease that continues to challenge his health.
Tuyen's family is currently classified as a poor household and is in urgent need of support from the community. Every contribution, no matter how small, can help him continue his treatment, stay in school, and move forward with greater hope and strength.
Your kindness and generosity can do more than help cover Tuyen's medical expenses-it can bring hope to a family striving to overcome loss and illness. Every donation today can help him continue his education and pursue the dreams that every child deserves the chance to achieve.
