Guide for Child Sponsorship Program Sponsors
25/04/2025By joining the Child Sponsorship Program, sponsors not only provide meaningful support but also contribute to promoting and protecting children's rights.
To ensure a safe and supportive environment for all children, please adhere to the following principles:
1. Respect and Protect Children
Children are at the center of all program activities. All actions, communication, and interactions must respect children's dignity and must not cause any physical, emotional, or psychological harm. Any form of discrimination, abuse, harassment, or inappropriate behavior is strictly prohibited.
2. Participate in Activities in Accordance with Organizational Guidelines
Visits and activities within project areas must be arranged and accompanied by program staff. Interactions with children should take place in safe, transparent environments and, whenever possible, under appropriate supervision.
3. Protect Children's Privacy and Confidentiality
Children's personal information, images, and family circumstances must be treated with respect and confidentiality. Sponsors must not share, publish, or use such information without prior authorization from the organization and the child's family.
4. Communicate Appropriately with Children
Positive and respectful communication is encouraged; however, appropriate boundaries should always be maintained. Sponsors should not exchange personal contact information with children, make promises beyond their ability to fulfill, or engage in any behavior that could create misunderstandings or place children at risk.
5. Follow Guidelines on Gifts and Assistance
Sponsors must not provide cash directly to children. Any gifts, donations, or forms of support should be discussed and coordinated with the organization in advance to ensure fairness, appropriateness, and child safety.
6. Report Any Concerns
If you witness or suspect any behavior that may place a child at risk or cause harm, please report it immediately to the designated program staff so that appropriate action can be taken promptly.
These guidelines are based on the organization's Child Protection Policy and related safeguarding procedures. Sponsors are encouraged to review all relevant guidance documents to ensure full understanding and compliance throughout their participation in the program.
Your support not only helps improve the lives of children but also contributes to building a safe, sustainable environment where children's rights are respected and protected. Thank you for being part of this journey.
